Two Danville women charged in theft of guinea pigs

DANVILLE, Ky, (WTVQ) – Danville police have arrested and charged two people they say stole guinea pigs from a pet store.

According to the Danville Police Department, on Saturday evening, Jaimee E.  Pack and Isabelle L. Mason took two guinea pigs and left a pet store without paying for the animals.

Police say the store clerk attempted to stop the two women in the parking lot while asking for the guinea pigs back, and that’s when a passenger threw one of the guinea pigs out of the window.

The guinea pig landed on its head, according to the clerk.

The women then sped off, running over the clerk’s foot.  Police say the clerk and the guinea pig that was thrown from the vehicle will be okay.  They say one guinea pig is still missing.

Pack and Mason were later arrested and charged with robbery, cruelty to animals, and shoplifting.
