UPDATE: Body found in Pulaski Co. identified, foul play suspected

SOMERSET, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Pulaski Co. Coroner has identified the body found on the Jones Knob property.

According to the coroner, the body is that of 56-year-old Edward Gregory VanWormer.  The coroner says VanWormer died of a gunshot wound.

His death is being investigated as a homicide.

SOMERSET, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Pulaski Co. Sheriff says the search for a man reported missing on September 15 led to the discovery of a body on Wednesday, September 23.

The body, found on the Jones Knob Road property, was taken to Frankfort by the Pulaski Co. Coroner for an autopsy.  Neither the identity of the victim nor the cause of death has been determined.

The body was found while investigators were looking for 56-year-old Edward Vanwormer, who had been missing.  Two people, 31-year-old Jebediah Lee Vanwormer and 22-year old Amanda Braddock were arrested Thursday morning in North Carolina in connection to the disappearance.  They will be extradited to Pulaski Co. to face charges of tampering with physical evidence.

No word if detectives believe the body that was found is that of Edward Vanwormer, and the investigation is continuing.
