Trump to hold rally at Freedom Hall in Louisville Monday
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WTVQ) – President Donald Trump will hold a rally in Louisville Monday evening.
The president will appear at Freedom Hall. Doors will open at 4:30 p.m., with Trump speaking at 7:30 p.m.
Vice President Mike Pence recently visited Louisville as part of the effort to sell a White House-backed health overhaul.
The Democratic Party has released a statement on Trump’s appearance in the state, saying “People here in Kentucky and across the nation have every reason to be upset and protest the Trump administration’s actions,” said Rep. Sannie Overly, chair of the Kentucky Democratic Party. “President Trump’s health care plan turns back Medicaid expansion that has provided coverage for about 440,000 Kentuckians, all while providing large tax cuts for corporations and the wealthy. President Trump’s budget eliminates public services and anti-poverty programs, such as Meals on Wheels, which allows many low-income seniors to stay in their homes. Simply put, the president is taking actions that will hurt millions of people — and only help the wealthy few.”
