Truck Driver Unintentionally Helps Police Catch Suspected Bank Robber
Lexington Police said a truck driver unknowingly helped an off-duty officer catch a suspected bank robber.
Investigators said Michael Roe, 47, walked into a Whitaker Bank branch on Paris Pike Monday afternoon, demanded money and left towards Paris Pike and Rogers Road.
Police said Roe tried to get away in a van, but it was temporarily blocked-in by a truck driver who had parked his truck to get gas.
Investigators said an off-duty Lexington Police officer caught and arrested Roe.
Police said Roe did not have a weapon.
Roe is in the Fayette County Detention Center.
