Troopers: Wet Road Was Factor In Deadly Harlan Co. Crash

State police said the wet weather played a role in a deadly crash in Harlan County.

Troopers said it happened just before 4:00 Monday afternoon on Highway 38 in the River Ridge area.

According to investigators, a woman driving a pickup truck lost control as she went around a curve.

Troopers said she hit a guardrail, then collided with another pickup truck.

State police identified the female driver as Evelyn Philpot, 85, Evarts.

Troopers said Philpot was pronounced dead at the crash scene.

According to investigators, the man driving the second pickup truck was not hurt.
