Troopers: Moped Driver Didn’t Survive Madison County Collision

State Police said a moped driver died after a collision in Madison County.

It happened Tuesday around 3:00 p.m. on Jacks Creek Road.

Troopers said it appeared that the moped driver was turning left off of Secretariat Drive when he pulled into the path of an oncoming vehicle.

The other driver was not hurt.

Investigators identified the man on the moped as Jarid V. Patterson, 40, of Richmond.

Troopers said he was pronounced dead at U.K. Hospital.

Deputies said Patterson was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
