Troopers arrest Louisville man after three county pursuit

RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ)- Troopers are still investigating after they say a three county pursuit started in Fayette County and ended in Rockcastle County.

KSP says 60-year-old Lewis J. Landis, of Lousiville, was driving south on I-75 near the 99 mile marker when a trooper tried to pull him over for driving more than 100 miles per hour. The trooper says when he tried to stop Landis, he tried to evade police. Troopers say the pursuit lasted around 40 miles, traveling through Madison County and into Rockcastle County, where Landis pulled into a gas station and was arrested.

Troopers say Landis is at the Rockcastle County Detention Center where he faces charges from Fayette, Madison and Rockcastle coutnies for DUI, fleeing and evading, wanton endangerment, reckless driving, speeding, resisting arrest and other traffic offenses.

Troopers say Landis was also served a warrant and charged with violating his parole.
