Prosecutor to seek death penalty in triple murder case
LESLIE COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Commonwealth’s Attorney plans to seek the death penalty against the man accused of killing three people in Leslie County.
Paul Douglas Sizemore was indicted Wednesday on 16 counts, including murder, attempt to commit murder and wanton endangerment.
Sizemore is charged with the murders of Larry, Norma and Chad Bowling.
According to the indictment, Sizemore went to the home of Larry and Norma Bowling on December 10 with the intent to burglarize it.
The indictment says Sizemore shot and killed all three with a rifle during the burglary and then stole a 2009 Cadillac belonging to Norma and Larry Bowling.
He is also accused of trying to kill two others, including a trooper with the Kentucky State Police.
The indictment says Sizemore fired shots at the trooper while trying to escape.
Sizemore remains in jail on a $1 million cash-only bond.
