Trick-or-treating alternative in Lexington
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Lexington Police and Parks and Recreation have partnered with Fayette Mall in Lexington to offer trick-or-treating inside the Mall two days before Halloween. Children can trick-or-treat inside the Mall on Thursday, October 29 from 6-8 p.m.
Some citizens aren’t happy that trick-or-treating is going to be held on Saturday, October 31, competing with Keeneland and a home University of Kentucky football game. A petition drive was even started by a parent to have the official trick-or-treat date changed.
The city says the traditional trick-or-treating will go on as planned from 6-8 p.m., October 31. Police and city traffic engineers say safety concerns will be similar Thursday through Saturday.
