Travel-related Zika infection confirmed in Fayette Co.
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Lexington-Fayette County Health Department has confirmed a case of Zika Virus in Fayete County.
A release from the health department says an unidentified person who had recently traveled in an area where the virus is circulating developed symptoms while visiting Lexington.
Zika is not known to be circulating in the local mosquito population.
The health department says they will be modifying their mosquito-spraying schedule to help control mosquitoes in the 40502 area where the traveler was visiting.
