Transylvania University requiring COVID-19 vaccinations

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Transylvania University in Lexington is requiring all students, faculty and staff to be vaccinated against the coronavirus, the school announced Wednesday.

Students and employees must be vaccinated by Oct. 13, according to the school.

Masks are required to be worn in public indoor spaces regardless of vaccination status, according to the university.

Details on how to apply for an exemption will be updated next week, according to the school.

The university will hold a two-day vaccination clinic this weekend, Aug. 28-29, from noon until 5:00 p.m. at the William T. Young Campus Center.  Anyone 12-and-older can get the Pfizer vaccine.  Appointments can be scheduled online by selecting the Transylvania University option.

Berea College, Centre College and Bellarmine University are also requiring students to be fully vaccinated.  Bellarmine is also requiring employees to be vaccinated against the virus.
