Woman suffers only minor injuries when car hit by train

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police say a woman is “OK” after the car she was driving was hit by a train Thursday afternoon.

Lexington Police say at around 4:30 p.m. Thursday, a driver was trying to cross the train tracks at Shropshire Avenue near Tom Aly when a train going six miles an hour hit the front of her vehicle.

Despite not being seriously injured, the woman went to the hospital just to be checked out, police said.
