Train engine catches fire in Scott County

SCOTT COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- Investigators say a train caught fire tonight in Scott County. The fire department says it happened around 8:30 near Luke Road. According to firefighters, the train’s lead engine caught fire.

Investigators say no one was hurt. But they were originally concerned about the amount of fuel still on the train. Firefighters say they were able to quickly put out the fire. The Lexington Fire Department also helped Scott County at the scene.

Firefighters say they hope to eventually have the train towed to Sadieville to assess the damage.
