Traffic stop leads to 2 arrests in Richmond

RICHMOND, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Madison Co. Sheriff says a man and a woman are behind bars after being pulled over Monday on a traffic violation.

The Sheriff says 41-year-old Mike Moren was stopped around 5:15 p.m. on the Eastern Bypass.

According to the Sheriff, deputies spotted a syringe in the vehicle, and brought out a K-9 unit who detected drugs in the car.

Deputies reportedly searched the car and found methamphetamine.

Moren was arrested and charged with possession.  His passenger, 23-year-old Kinsey Hengst, was also arrested on an active warrant for a parole violation.

Both were taken to the Madison County Detention Center, where a search of each resulted in additonal charges of promoting contraband.
