Traffic Safety Checkpoints Busy On Memorial Day
Traffic Safety Checkpoints were set up across Kentucky on Memorial Day to make the roads safer for motorists and their families.
Since May 20, 2013, the annual ‘Click It or Ticket’ seat belt enforcement mobilization program has been underway statewide. It runs through June 2, 2013.
Law Enforcement said the program isn’t about writing tickets, but rather increasing awareness and saving lives.
Last year in Kentucky, over half (62.5%) of the motorists killed were not wearing a seat belt, according to statistics from Kentucky State Police.
