Traffic Alert: S. Broadway Shutdown After Car Hits Pole
More than 400 people were without power and a busy intersection was shutdown after police said a car hit an electricity pole Tuesday night in Lexington.
The crash, which happened near the intersection of South Broadway and Waller Avenue, caused a power line to fall to the ground.
Lexington police and fire crews were forced to shut down South Broadway in both directions as they waited for Kentucky Utilities crews to shut the line down.
Kentucky Utilities were on the scene by 10:30 p.m., but weren’t able to estimate how long power would be off.
Lexington Police told ABC 36 News crews on the scene that South Broadway would not reopen until utility crews completed the repairs.
