TRAFFIC ALERT: Graduation ceremonies underway at Rupp Arena

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Several high school graduations underway Monday and Tuesday at Rupp Arena are expected to impact traffic.

“Lexington motorists traveling in and out of Downtown near Lexington Center and Rupp Arena are strongly advised to plan ahead and use alternate routes to avoid High Street and Broadway Street during this time frame,” said Bill Owen, President and CEO of Lexington Center.

Owen says drivers should allow extra time for possible delays between 8:30 a.m. and 8 p.m.

Fayette County high school graduation ceremonies are scheduled as follows:

Monday, June 3

10 a.m. – Paul Laurence Dunbar
1:30 p.m. – Tates Creek
5 p.m. – Bryan Station

Tuesday, June 4

10 a.m. – Frederick Douglass
1:30 p.m. – Henry Clay
5 p.m. – Lafayette

Doors open at 9 a.m. for the 10 a.m. ceremonies.
