Traffic Advisory: KY 2516 now closed until Tuesday in Maysville for slip repairs
FLEMINGSBURG, Ky. (WTVQ) – Old Maysville Hill (KY 2516) in Mason County will remain closed now until late Tuesday, Sept. 25, for traffic safety reasons as Kentucky Department of Highways crews continue slip repairs.
The work and road closure began Thursday on KY 2516 at milepoint 0.6 between Wadsworth Drive and Lexington Pike so crews could install T-rail along the roadside to prevent the embankment from slipping.
Due to a steep drop off at the location, the road will remain closed at that point to all traffic through the weekend and early next week while crews finish T-rail work and rebuild the roadway shoulder. The road should reopen by the end of the day Tuesday, weather permitting.
Barricades have been placed on KY 2516 at Wadsworth Drive and at Lexington Pike with only local traffic permitted past those points.
During the road closure, motorists may reroute using US 62 through downtown Maysville Road work schedules are subject to change depending on weather conditions. Motorists are asked to heed all warning signs, slow down in work zones and remain aware of workers and construction equipment when traveling.
