Trader Joe’s recalls ice cream brand

MONROVIA, CA (WTVQ) – Trader Joe’s is recalling Mikawaya Chocolate Chocolate Mochi Ice Cream (UPC 070934990609) after it says the supplier notified the company the ice cream may contain peanuts that aren’t listed on the ingredients label.

People who have an allergy to peanuts run the risk of serious or life-threatening allergic reaction if they eat the ice cream. Trader Joe’s says to date, no allergic reactions or illnesses have been reported.

The code “LOT 090-17” is on the boxes affected.

If you purchased the affected ice cream, you can return it to any Trader Joe’s for a full refund.
