Toys For Tots Struggling This Christmas; Phone Bank Tonight To Help

An ABC 36 phone bank Thursday night will help the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots Lexington raise some much-needed money this Christmas.

The number to call between 5:00pm-6:30pm is 859-294-6090.

Toys for Tots said it had to close registration early because it was out of financial donations.

It was also in need of toys for infants.

The annual campaign works to collect new, unwrapped toys to distribute as Christmas gifts to children in need.

The non-profit said 97% of its donations went to providing toys, books and gifts for the holidays.

The remaining 3% covered fundraising expenses.

Toys for Tots said donated money did not pay for manpower costs or salaries.
