Thursday looks mild and windy with rain chances late

A cold front on the way Thursday evening

Thursday starts nicely in the mid 40s. winds are breezy to begin, gusting 15-20 mph. These will ramp up through the afternoon, with gusts reaching up to 30 mph later on. This afternoon, temperatures will peak in the upper 50s. Rain chances will hold off through the morning. By lunchtime, some scattered showers will begin to spread through the area. Our main chance of rain comes as the cold front passes this evening. As the front moves through, we may see a few strong wind gusts, heavy rainfall, and possibly a few rumbles of thunder.

Temperatures will quickly drop behind the front and will reach below freezing past midnight. Any lingering rain showers will transition to brief snowfall. No accumulations or impacts are expected.

Chilly Friday with a quick recovery

Friday morning starts in the 20s, with the 30s by the afternoon. Winds will still be blustery, so it will be quite a chilly day. This weekend, we’ll quickly recover as winds turn out of the south and temperatures return to the 50s. Saturday will be dry, mild, and pleasant. Sunday we’re monitoring the potential for some scattered rain showers as we look to be unsettled.  This unsettled trend continues into the start of next week. Multiple days could see rain as we head toward the holidays.
