Three killed in crash on I-65 Monday evening

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State Police say they responded to a call around 9:30 p.m. Monday, about a collision that left three people dead on I-65 in Warren County.

Investigators say 36-year-old Donald Kabwenge, of Georgia, was driving a 2012 Freightliner box truck headed south on I-65 and failed to see a 2020 Nissan Altima.

Authorities stated 22-year-old Alyssa Aldrete and 21-year-old Alexis Coker, both of Auburn, Ala., were struck by the Freightliner causing their Nissan Altima to rear end a 2018 Freightliner tractor trailer, all which were slowed down due to road construction near mile marker 26.

All three individuals were pronounced deceased on scene by the Warren County Coroners Office. The operator of the 2018 Freightliner was not injured.

The investigation is ongoing.
