Three Arrests In Powell County Drug Investigation

Kentucky State Police say three men were arrested during a routine traffic stop at the Park and Ride gas station in Clay City just after midnight Thursday.

Police say a 2002 Chevrolet Tahoe was operated by Johnnie Stanley of Winchester.  Stanley gave troopers consent to search the vehicle.

Police found several types of drugs in the vehicle; they include heroin, cocaine, and multiple other narcotics. Stanley and a passenger in the vehicle, Bobby Ford of Winchester, were taken into custody and charged with trafficking in controlled substances.

William Washington of Paris was also a passenger in the vehicle. He was taken into custody, and charged with trafficking in controlled substances and possession of open alcoholic beverage container in motor vehicle

The men are are lodged at the Powell County Detention Center.
