Thousands hit downtown Lexington for Tattoo Expo
LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC36 NEWS NOW) – In downtown Lexington, close to 100 tattoo artists from around the U.S. are tattooing in one place.
The Tattoo Expo is being held in the main ballroom at the Hilton.
Artists are competing for awards, taking walk ups so people can come in and get tattooed the same day and taking appointments.
One local tattoo apprentice spoke about having a tattoo expo here in Lexington.
“We’ve been going to tattoo conventions since 2019 and it’s really nice to come to this one and have one in Lexington,” said Danielle King with The Family Business Tattoo Parlor. “Our shop is literally 10 minutes from here, so it’s great to have everybody local here that way we can see everybody there. I honestly, I didn’t know how it would turn out, being the first one in Lexington in a long time, but I’m impressed.”
Sunday is the last day of the expo from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
