This Valentine’s, take time to add a message of hope

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – Holidays can be isolating for people in recovery and in homeless shelters, which has been further exacerbated during the pandemic.

That’s why the Hope Center is encouraging the community to send messages of love and hope to its clients for Valentine’s Day through its specially organized message link.

Community members can visit, click on the Valentine Message button and send a general message.

“It can be an inspiring recovery message, a ‘keep the spirit’ type message or a ‘we are here to support you,’ ” said Janice James, interim executive director of the Hope Center. “Whatever you send will be read and appreciated by our Hope Center clients. It’s a free and simple way to make them feel connected to our great community.”

Messages received will be reviewed, approved and posted for all clients to see on a Valentine’s message board throughout the following programs and buildings:

  • Ball-Quantrell Jones Recovery Center for Women
  • George Privett Recovery Center for Men
  • Emergency Shelter
  • Don and Cathy Jacobs House
