Third suspect in Red Mile robbery and shooting found in jail in Mason County

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- Lexington Police say they’ve arrested a man they say was involved in a robbery and shooting in October at the Red Mile Square apartments.

Two people were sent to the hospital. Court records show that Joseph “Jody” Fain was already in jail in Mason County. He’s charged with robbery and receiving stolen property.



Police in Lexington say an arrest warrant has been issued for a third suspect in a home invasion and shooting at the Red Mile Square Apartments that sent two people to the hospital.

Officers say they are now looking for 20-year-old Joseph “Jody” Fain on a charge of robbery.

Demetrioun Boaz turned himself into police Friday evening and is charged with robbery in connection to the incident.

A third suspect, Saquan Freeman, was hit by gunfire during the shooting, and remains in the hospital.

Anyone who knows the whereabouts of Joseph Fain is asked to call police.

Court records are shedding some light on a robbery and double shooting that occurred the Red Mile Square Apartments last Thursday.

Demetrioun Boaz , 20, is in police custody and is charged with robbery.

According to court documents — a victim says he met with Boaz to sell him Marijuana and that is when Boaz pulled a gun.

The victim fled, but says Boaz and two other men ran into the apartment and attempted to rob several people inside at gunpoint.

Officers were initially called to the Shell Gas Station on South Broadway Thursday night. They found a man with a gunshot wound to the back. He told Police the men began firing shots around the apartment and he was hit.

Police say he was an innocent bystander.

Court Documents reveal another suspect –Saquan Freeman was also shot five times and was dropped off at Saint Joseph Hospital.

Freeman is in critical condition.

Police surrounded the Red Mile Square Townhomes Thursday after another suspect barricaded himself in the apartment. Officials say he broke a screen window and got away.
Investigators say that suspect is still at large.

Demetrioun Boaz is scheduled to appear in court this afternoon.
