The Uncommon Grackle open for submissions through March 31

MOUNT STERLING, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Gateway Regional Arts Center in Mt. Sterling needs creative submissions for the next issue of its “The Uncommon Grackle” literary zine.

The zine – a self-published, small circulation magazine – is based in Mount Sterling, and is designed to showcase writers and artists in or from Kentucky. It serves as the Art Center’s literary journal focused on curated fiction, non-fiction, poetry, photography and art.

The zine is open to submissions twice a year: February and March for May publication, and July and August for October publication.

Submissions are being accepted now at http://grackentucky.org/grackle, and will remain open through March 31 for any artist of any genre. The Grackle accepts original flash fiction, short stories, and poetry of reasonable length in any genre.

Art and photography are limited to black and white reproduction at this time. Submitting is free, must take place online, and must follow content criteria. There is no payment for publication.

Through its literary zine, the Arts Center hopes to open doors for the many talented writers and artists of the Gateway region and of Kentucky, and promote them to the world. The current issue and back issues are published online at https://thegrackle.magcloud.com.
