The cold looks to ease in the coming days
Meteorologist Jordan Smith has a look at your Wednesday morning forecast!
Lexington, Kentucky (WTVQ – ABC 36): Good Wednesday everyone, it was another downright FRIGID start to our day with a second consecutive morning with temperatures in the teens. But this morning was the coldest with mid to upper teens. But a breezy wind made it feel like the upper single digits to low teens. Here are some of the coldest temperatures from this morning thanks to the Kentucky Mesonet.
We do make a good effort of recovery by this afternoon with highs reaching the mid to upper 40s under a mostly sunny sky.
Temperatures to start our Thursday will be cold but not nearly as cold as the last couple mornings with low to mid 30s.
We really improve temperatures by the afternoon with highs cracking the 50 degree mark into the mid to upper 50s.
That will kick off a stretch of 50+ degree temperature days lasting through the weekend and into early next week, but its going to come with a few rain chances. The first chance comes Friday with rain being likely. Rain moves in early Friday morning making for a slow morning commute.
Rain turns more scattered into the afternoon/evening.
Saturday is mainly dry, but a stray shower is still possible.
Additional scattered rain showers move in on Sunday and last into early next week, but this isn’t looking as strong of a system as a few days ago.
Temperatures turn colder again by Tuesday with a snow flurry possible.
Stay with the ABC 36 Storm Team for updates.
