Texas fugitive wanted for murder caught in Lexington
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – The Lexington Police Department says a fugitive wanted for murder in Texas is in custody in Lexington.
Police say they received an anonymous tip that 38-year-old Jerry Greer was staying at the LaQuinta Inn on Stanton Way.
Police began surveillance of the hotel on Saturday.
They say they arrested Greer without incident as he left the hotel.
According to KTRK in Houston, Greer shot 29-year-old Edna McWorter to death after a fight outside a bar in September 2018.
In addition to murder, Greer is also wanted for parole violation.
