Tennessee man charged with kidnapping girl after social media exchange
CINDA, Ky. (WTVQ) – A 20-year-old Tennessee man has been charged with kidnapping a minor after he allegedly picked up a Leslie County juvenile he’d been communicating with on social media to take her to Tennessee to live with him.
According to the Kentucky State Police, Noah A. Foote, of Millington, Tenn., was caught by London, Ky., Police after state troopers were notified of the girl being missing.
Troopers said that at about 11:30 p.m. Monday, a family on Coon Creek Road in Leslie County said their juvenile daughter was missing.
Trooper Chadd Daniels and Trooper Ronnie Long responded and discovered from evidence and neighbors the girl left the home with someone in a white Ford pickup truck. Troopers were able to radio that information to surrounding agencies and officers in London stopped the truck.
The driver was identified as Foote.
Upon conducting interviews, investigators discovered girl had been communicating with Foote for an extended amount of time through social media and Foote planned to take her back to Tennessee to live with him, the KSP said in a statement.
