Temperature warm up on the way, with an active stretch ahead
Chilly Saturday Night with Frost Concerns
Conditions across the Bluegrass remain cool and dry Saturday evening, with temperatures generally in the upper 40s to lower 50s under a steady northeast breeze. That dry air and light wind will set the stage for a cold night ahead.
As skies stay clear, temperatures will drop quickly after sunset. Many areas are expected to fall to near or below freezing for several hours. That means widespread frost is likely by early Sunday morning, which could pose a risk to early spring plants.
Frost Advisories are in effect west of I-75, and Freeze Warnings are in effect east of I-75. Make sure to take necessary precautions to protect sensitive plants.
Warm and Breezy Sunday Ahead
After the cold start, a big turnaround arrives Sunday.
Southerly winds will return and usher in much warmer air, sending afternoon temperatures soaring into the upper 60s and low 70s. It will feel much more like spring again, though it won’t be calm, expect gusty winds at times, especially during the afternoon, with gusts reaching 25 to 30 mph.
The dry air sticking around will also lead to low humidity, giving the day a crisp feel despite the warmer temperatures.
Mild Nights, Even Warmer Days Early Week
The warming trend continues into the start of the new week. Sunday night will be much milder, with temperatures only dropping into the 50s—quite a contrast from the freezing conditions just 24 hours prior.
By Monday and Tuesday, highs will climb even higher, reaching the upper 70s to low 80s. Skies will be mostly sunny, though a stray shower can’t be ruled out during the afternoons. Most locations, however, will stay dry.

Midweek Rain Returns, But Severe Threat Low
Rain chances increase by the middle of the week as a cold front approaches from the west. Showers and possibly a few thunderstorms are expected from Tuesday night into Wednesday and could linger into Thursday.
While periods of steady rain look likely, the overall severe weather threat appears low at this time. Instead, expect more of a soaking rain pattern rather than intense storms.
Temperatures will cool slightly behind the front, dropping back into the 60s before warming again toward next weekend.
Looking Ahead
Another system may develop late next weekend into early the following week, potentially bringing a stronger round of storms. Details remain uncertain, but it’s something to keep an eye on as the pattern stays active.
