Teen dies in Washington Co. collision
SPRINGFIELD, Ky. (WTVQ) – A crash in Washington Co. took the life of a teen, and sent a woman to the hospital on Monday.
Kentucky State Police say at about 8:40p.m., a Hyundai headed eastbound on KY 1754 didn’t stop at the intersection with KY 555, and was hit by a northbound Nissan in the rear driver’s side.
The driver of the Hyundai, Holly Horton, was not wearing a seat belt, and was airlifted to UK Medical Center, where she is listed in critical condition. A passenger in the Hyundai, 16-year-old Ople White was also not wearing a seat belt, and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Washington Co. Coroner. A second passenger was belted and not injured.
The driver of the Nissan was also uninjured in the accident.
