Teen dies in forklift accident

LANCASTER, Ky. (WTVQ) — According to the Fayette County Coroner’s office, 17-year-old Grant Thomas Oakley passed away from injuries gained in a forklift accident at Bluegrass Agricultural Distributors, in Lancaster.

Oakley was riding on the side of a forklift around 4:45 p.m., says the coroner’s report, when he slipped off and was run over. Although Oakley was flown to the University of Kentucky Medical Center, he later died of his injuries.

His funeral arrangements are pending at this time.
