Teen dies in Green Co. collision

GREENSBURG, Ky. (WTVQ) – Kentucky State police say a teen has died and two others were sent to the hospital after an accident Wednesday evening on KY 323.

Troopers say at about 7:30 p.m., 17-year-old Khristopher Thompson was headed northbound in a Chevy Tracker when he attempted to pass a Honda Civic driven by 16-year-old Julian Pickford.  Investigators say the Tracker hit the Civic, ran off the road and turned over.

Officers say Thompson, who wasn’t wearing a seatbelt, was thrown from the car.  He was pronounced dead at the scene by the Green County Coroner.  A passenger in Thompson’s Chevy, 18-year-old Wesley Whitlow was taken to Jane Todd Crawford Hospital with minor injuries.  A second passenger, 17-year-old Robert Ray, was taken to the same hospital, but later flown to University of Louisville Hospital for treatment.

Troopers say Pickford and his passengers were uninjured.
