Teen dies, 7 others hurt in Henry Co. crash

HENRY COUNTY, Ky. (WTVQ)- State police say a 14-year-old boy has died Monday, March 19, after a crash on LaGrange Road in Henry County on March 13.

KSP says 14-year-old Colston Melton died from his injuries sustained in the crash on March 13. They say his family was with him at the hospital.

Investigators say that around 9:15 p.m., on March 13, two cars traveling in opposite directions on LaGrange Road hit head-on. Eight people total were involved in the crash, all were taken to the hospital.

Troopers say some of the passengers in the crash had to be pulled out. They say the drivers of each car, and a juvenile passenger, were airlifted to nearby hospitals. The other five people were all taken to the hospital by ambulance with non-life threatening injuries.

KSP says that due to the severity of the crash, multiple emergency service departments were initially dispatched to the scene to include the Kentucky State Police, Henry County EMS, New Castle Fire Department and the Lake Jericho Fire Department.

A reconstruction unit was called to the scene.
