FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – A student is brought out of school in handcuffs in Franklin County, accused of making a threat against the school.
According to the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were looking into two threats made against Western Hills High School on Wednesday.
Police presence at the school was increased after two messages were found written on bathroom walls at the school.
On Wednesday morning, deputies took a teenage girl into custody at school.
Franklin County Sheriff Pat Melton held a press conference after the arrest and talked about the recent threats.
“Parents need to talk to their children,” said Melton. “Talk to them about threats. Talk to them about this stuff. If this is a joke or you think this is funny, I promise you we don’t, and we take this very seriously.”
