Teen accused of DUI, driving into four-year-old

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ)- A car crash overshadowed the Cats’ victory Saturday.

According to Lexington Police, towards the end of the game, around 2 p.m, a car hit a four-year-old on Cooper Drive.

Police say the little boy was with a parent, waiting to cross the road when a car veered off into the grass.

Officers say he was taken to UK Hospital, but might not survive.

The driver, 18-year-old Jacob Heil, was arrested for DUI and police think he could soon face other charges.

The crash slowed down post-game traffic since Cooper Drive was closed.

The University of Kentucky says it does have an 18 year old named Jacob Heil enrolled as a freshman.

UK’s student government tweeted last night, saying it would look into transportation and safety issues associated with game days.
