Taylor County man charged with assault

Campbellsville, Ky. (WTVQ)- Kentucky State Police arrested 55 year-old Jeffrey Jones, of Campbellsville, on Sunday, March 4th for assault and other charges.

KSP received a call Sunday evening of a male being assaulted with a hammer at a home on Maple Road.

The victim was identified as 48 year-old James Burdine or Campbellsville and transported to the Taylor County Hospital before police arrived; he was unconscious.

He was later transported to the University of Louisville Hospital where is he currently listed in stable condition.

Jeffery Jones was arrested on Maple Road and charged with assault in the 1st degree, as well as tampering with physical evidence, criminal 3rd degree and resisting arrest.
