The future of science and technology education in Madison County Public Schools got a little brighter on Monday, thanks to a generous grant from the United Way of the Bluegrass, and aluminum recycling company Novelis.
In celebration of Rupp Arena’s 40th anniversary, and coinciding with the date of Rupp’s first concert (Lawrence Welk on October 17, 1976,) Rupp Arena is partnering with six local businesses to commemorate the occasion.
United Way of the Bluegrass and NaviGo College and Career Prep Services are pleased to announce a convening of businesses on Thursday, September 17 at 8:00 am at United Way of the Bluegrass. This convening will allow business leaders to learn first-hand about the NaviGo Scholars Program.
ABC 36 is teaming up with the other television stations in Lexington and United Way of the Bluegrass to produce a half-hour special that will air August 22 at 7:00 p.m. It will be broadcast simultaneously on all four channels to bring awareness to issues facing Central Kentucky and encourage communities to "unite" to solve those issues.
United Way of the Bluegrass said its 'Fill the Truck' campaign would begin on Saturday, November 29. The non-profit planned to collect new toys, coats and outerwear at Walmart on Richmond Road in Lexington for the next three Saturdays.
