State officials say the Kennedy Mill Bridge over Herrington Lake in central Kentucky is scheduled to reopen on April 1, nearly seven months after closing to traffic.

Kennedy Mill Bridge remains closed

The Kennedy Mill Bridge, which carries KY 152 across Herrington Lake between Mercer and Garrard counties, may reopen in April 2016, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. The bridge was closed September 3, 2015, after the state found significant deterioration during a routine evaluation, which raised public safety concerns.

UPDATE: Work To Resume On Kennedy Mill Bridge Project

Exploratory drilling work was scheduled to begin September 29, 2014, at the Kennedy Mill Bridge that carries KY 152 over Herrington Lake at the Garrard-Mercer County line near Burgin.
