Suspected arson destroys decades old grocery store

HARRODSBURG, Ky. (WTVQ) – A family-owned business in Mercer County was destroyed by suspected arson early Tuesday morning.

Firefighters were called to the Rosehill Food Basket around 3 a.m.

No one was in the store at the time of the fire. One firefighter had minor injuries. No one else was hurt.

Kentucky State Police thinks someone set the building on fire. It’s the second time police say a fire was reported at the store in the past three weeks.

Anyone with information about the cause or person(s) believed to be responsible for setting the fire, are asked to call KSP Post 7 at 859.623.2404 or the Arson Task Force at 800.27ARSON (800.272.7766).  The Arson Task Force is offering up to a $1000.00 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for starting the fire.
