Suspect Named In Kidnapping And Sexual Assault Case

Lexington Police have identified a man they believe is a suspect in a reported sexual assault, kidnapping and car theft.

Police identified the suspect as Parico Coffey, 21.

As of this writing, he had not been captured.

On Tuesday around 5:46 a.m., police said they arrived at a home on Bordeux Drive for a complaint of a woman who was in distress knocking on doors asking for help.

Police said the woman told them she was sitting in her car in a gas station parking lot at Versailles Road and Alexandria Drive, when two men forced their way in at gunpoint and sexually assaulted her.

The woman told investigators she was able to escape her captors and run to a home on Bordeux Drive.

Police said the reported victim’s stolen car was found around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in the parking lot of the Gardenside Plaza, not far from the gas station.

Police also said a man by the name of Dexter Watson was arrested Tuesday morning on unrelated charges.  Investigators said they wanted to talk to Watson to see if he had any involvement in the reported kidnapping, rape and car theft.

Earlier Tuesday, Police released surveillance photos of Coffey and Watson from inside the gas station where the reported crime began.

Watson was lodged in the Fayette County Detention Center on the unrelated charges.
