Suspect identified in crash involving Georgetown deputy

GEORGETOWN, Ky. (WTVQ) – Georgetown police have identified the man they say is behind a robbery and a crash involving a deputy.

Georgetown Police say they have obtained an arrest warrant for Deslan Scott Hurley in connection to a robbery at the Georgetown Liquor Mart on July 23.

Hurley is also wanted for stealing a car and hitting a Georgetown Police officer’s cruiser while trying to run from police.

According to the Georgetown Police Department, the officer was in Lexington and spotted Hurley in a stolen car on Expo Court and Virginia Avenue around 6:15 a.m. Tuesday.

Police say when the officer tried to pull Hurley over, he slammed into his cruiser and took off.

Hurley ran a red light on South Limestone and Virginia Avenue and was hit by another vehicle, according to police.

He then got out of the car and ran.
