Suspect charged in Frankfort murder
FRANKFORT, Ky. (WTVQ) – Police have arrested a suspect in connection to a shooting in Frankfort that left one man dead and another wounded.
According to the Frankfort Police Department, officers responded to a report of a burglary at 413 Menominee Trail around 11:23 p.m. Monday. They arrived to find 19-year-old Xavier Cochrum suffering from a gunshot wound. He was taken to Frankfort Regional Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.
While officers were in the area, they also found 19-year-old Ezavion Peyton suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital to be treated.
Police say after interviewing the victims and witnesses, they identified the suspect as 18-year-old Elijah T. Amburgey. He was arrested and charged with murder, wanton endangerment and assault.
