Suspect arrested in February sexual abuse case

LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A man accused of sexual assaulting one woman and chasing another is now behind bars in Lexington.

Police say in late February a woman reported that a man grabbed her, touched her inappropriately, and pushed her on the ground near the Herald-Leader building on Indiana Avenue. Ten to fifteen minutes after that, about two blocks away, officers say another woman says someone ran after her until she reached her house.

After looking at surveillance video, a composite sketch, and a lineup, the second woman was able to help police identify the man they believe committed the crime as Bennie Charles Johnson.

Johnson was arrested Thursday.
