Suspect in armed shoe store robbery arrested

CORBIN, Ky. (WTVQ) – A man accused of pulling a gun on a store employee in Corbin was arrested shortly after committing the crime, according to investigators.

The Knox County Sheriff’s Office says 19-year-old Cameron Brummett went into the B & H Shoe Store on May 10 and walked out with a shirt and a hat he didn’t pay for.

When an employee followed him out and confronted him, deputies say Brummett pulled a gun on the employee.

Deputies say Brummett was caught about an hour and half later on the London Highway at Farriston.

They say Brummett was wearing the stolen clothes, but the gun used was not found.

He has been charged with robbery.
