Suspect in Anderson County school shooting plot appears in court

LAWRENCEBURG, Ky. (WTVQ) – Students in Anderson County returned to school Monday, while the man accused of plotting an attack on the schools appeared in court.

Dylan Jarrell, 20, pleaded not guilty to terroristic threatening and harassing communications at a hearing in Anderson County.

Jarrell is in custody in Shelby County and appeared via video for the hearing.

Jarrell was appointed a public defender and the judge decided to keep his bond at $50,000 cash.

Kentucky State Police began investigating Jarrell on Thursday after a woman in New Jersey called, complaining Jarrell was harassing her online.

Troopers arrested Jarrell Thursday after finding him backing out of his driveway with a gun, more than 200 rounds of ammunition, a Kevlar bullet proof vest, a 100-round high capacity magazine along with a detailed plan for the attack, according to investigators.

Kentucky State Police and local officers provided extra security at Anderson County Schools on Monday.
