Suspect in 2016 robbery in Lexington arrested
LEXINGTON, Ky. (WTVQ) – A man wanted in connection with a 2016 robbery of a Lexington gas station has been arrested.
The Lexington Police Department says 44-year-old Vernon Jackson, of Frankfort, was arrested last week in Covington.
Jackson was identified as a suspect in the robbery of the Marathon station on North Broadway on December 9, 2016.
According to investigators, Jackson robbed the gas station at knifepoint.
Police released a surveillance image from the store at the time of the incident, but say investigators were not able to build a case against Jackson until earlier this year.
He was served a robbery warrant out of Lexington and a theft warrant out of Franklin County.
