Sunshine Returns After a Rainy Saturday
Cool nights ahead with the chance for record lows before a gradual warm-up next week.
Sunshine Returns After Saturday Showers
After a soggy start to the weekend, conditions are finally starting to clear out across central and eastern Kentucky. Saturday brought rounds of showers and storms during the morning and early afternoon, delivering some much-needed rainfall to the region. Behind the rain, clouds have been slow to exit, but skies will continue clearing this evening.
Highs today only made it into the mid and upper 60s, with a few spots briefly touching 70 degrees. That cooler trend will continue into tonight as temperatures dip into the upper 40s and lower 50s. If you’ve got Saturday evening plans, you’ll definitely want to grab a jacket—it’s going to be a crisp night. Fog could also develop in spots, especially in eastern valleys where skies clear last.
Sunday: Picture-Perfect
Once the fog lifts, Sunday will be a beautiful day. Expect wall-to-wall sunshine with afternoon highs climbing into the low and mid-70s. Winds will stay light, and the air will remain dry, making it a great day for outdoor plans.
Sunday night will be another cool one under clear skies. Many spots will fall back into the upper 40s to near 50 for some. That means another jacket-worthy evening.
Looking Ahead
High pressure stays locked over the region through early next week, keeping things dry and pleasant. By Tuesday, winds will start to shift from the south, allowing temperatures to gradually climb back into the 80s by mid to late week.
Overnight lows will remain on the cool side the next several nights before slowly moderating toward the upper 50s by the end of the week. Rain chances look slim to none through next weekend.
