Sunny stretch continues before spotty showers arrive Friday
Temperatures stay mild with highs near 60° before a brief chance of rain moves in to end the week.
A Mild and Pleasant End to the Week
Thursday is shaping up to be another beautiful fall day across the Bluegrass! Much like what we saw yesterday, expect plenty of sunshine and comfortable temperatures this afternoon. Highs will reach into the mid-50s and low 60s, making for a perfect day to get outside and enjoy the mild stretch of weather before some changes arrive this weekend.
Clear and Cool Tonight
As the sun sets this evening, skies will stay mostly clear with temperatures dropping back into the upper 30s to low 40s. It’ll be another crisp, cool night — great for any evening plans, but you’ll definitely want a jacket if you’re out late or heading to work early Friday morning. Winds will stay light overnight as high pressure remains in control of our weather pattern.
Spotty Showers Possible Friday
Friday will bring another mild day with highs once again reaching the low 60s under partly sunny skies. Most of the day will be dry, but we could see a few light, spotty showers during the afternoon or early evening as a weak disturbance passes north of the region. The National Weather Service notes that most of us will stay dry, so outdoor plans should be fine — just keep an umbrella handy, just in case.
Weekend Warm-Up Ahead
Looking ahead to the weekend, Saturday is expected to be the warmest day we’ve seen in quite a while. Temperatures could push into the upper 60s and even near 70° in some spots under partly sunny skies. A few light rain showers could move in late Saturday night, but overall, the weekend looks pleasant.
By Sunday, a cold front will slide through, dropping temperatures back to more seasonable levels in the upper 50s and low 60s. After that, another round of rain looks possible early next week as our weather pattern turns more unsettled heading into Tuesday and Wednesday.
